Junior Audrey Baker led the way, earning a trip to the Nebraska State Cross Country Championships.

Cozad fired a team score of 390 to finish regulation tied with Adams Central for second place, setting up a playoff on Hole 18 to determine the district runner-up.

The Cozad Haymakers picked up a pair of wins during a three-game stretch, rolling past Chase County before splitting two games Thursday with a loss to Ogallala and a win over Gering. Cozad opened the stretch Sept. 22 with a 24-2 victory over Chase County, using a 15-run second inning to break the game open.

The Cozad Haymaker cross country teams traveled to Ravenna on Thursday, Sept. 17, where they competed against runners from 15 other teams. The Haymaker boys turned in a strong team performance to finish third, while the Cozad girls placed ninth.
The Cozad Haymakers went 2-1 over a three-match stretch last week, splitting a triangular with Arapahoe and Alma on Tuesday, Sept. 15, before returning home Thursday and defeating North Platte St. Patrick’s in four sets. Cozad opened Tuesday’s action against Arapahoe, falling to the Warriors in two competitive sets, 25-20 and 25-20.
The Cozad girls golf team put together several strong performances over the past two weeks, highlighted by a team victory at Minden, a runner-up finish at Gothenburg and medal-winning rounds from senior Ella Atchison. Cozad opened the stretch Sept. 8, at a 9-hole triangular with Minden and Holdrege. The Makers came away with the team championship after combining for a 197, finishing 10 strokes ahead of Holdrege at 207.
The Cozad Haymakers picked up a dominant win over Lexington before battling through three close losses during a Saturday trip to North Platte, falling to Gering, Ralston and Alliance by a combined three runs.
